What
does the listed price include?
Unless otherwise noted, the listed price includes food, lodging,
ministry costs, international airfare and local transportation
unless otherwise noted, a T-shirt, insurance, administrative
costs, equipment, missionary expenses,
and all communication concerning trips. The following items are not included
in the cost of the trip: application fee, souvenirs, meals on off day(s), and
all passport and visa fees. (For groups of ten or more, contact the national
AIM office at (417) 8622781, ext. 4039.) |
How
do I raise financial support?
It is the responsibility of each AIMer to raise the total funds needed for his
or her trip. Once accepted to participate in an AIM outreach, you will receive
material to help you pray, prepare, and raise money. All contributions to your
trip must be given through your church, so donors can receive a tax-deductible
receipt. Your church will then forward your donations directly to the national
AIM office to be held in your account. Your church will receive World Ministries
giving credit for all funds contributed to AIM for your trip. We will send your
pastor a letter to encourage him and your church congregation to stand behind
you.
|
What
is the cancellation policy?
Once you are approved for an AIM trip, you are required to meet all financial
deadlines. If you decide not to participate, all cancellation penalties will
apply. Airline tickets and other deposits are mainly non-refundable. Other monies
beyond these cancellations cannot be returned to the individual due to IRS stipulations.
These monies will be held for two years in your national AIM account to be used
by you only for another AIM outreach. Monies held by the local church are subject
to local church policy. Due to factors affecting international travel, including
situations concerning Assemblies of God missionaries, the national AIM office
reserves the right to change or cancel outreaches. Prices, dates, and other particulars
of a trip can fluctuate from the date the catalog is published and the actual
departure time. In the event of a change or cancellation, monies received from
individuals will be transferred to other trips in the name of the recipients
after consulting with the individuals.
|
What
deadlines am I responsible for?
Once your application is received, you will receive all pertinent deadlines.
It is the responsibility of each AIMer to know all his or her trip deadlines.
Each trip has its own deadlines which must be carefully observed and followed.
In the event of a missed deadline, you may be disqualified from participating
in the outreach and/or may have extra costs involved. Please note: these deadlines
include all travel document deadlines. |
What
does the insurance cover, and can I get my own instead?
The
national AIM office has secured insurance with Brotherhood
Mutual Insurance Company for every AIMer. Be advised
that most individual domestic insurance plans
do not provide coverage outside the Untied States. For this reason, weve
provided this policy which includes a complete package of liability, medical,
AD& D, emergency medical evacuation, repatriation, and many other assistant
services for AIM participants. This is a mandatory group plan. We have not
found an insurance plan that is more comprehensive to protect AIM participants. The
insurance is included in the price of the trip.
|
Who
leads an AIM trip?
The national AIM office does not take lightly the responsibility of taking students
to other cultures and countries. Leaders are chosen by the national AIM office
in conjunction with local pastors and District Youth Directors (DYDs). All national
AIM trips are in cooperation with missionaries and/or national pastors, who are
familiar with the ways and customs of their lands. |
What
about safety issues in certain cultures?
Safety
is first and foremost with all outreaches. You will receive
detailed instructions about the rules and safety issues
pertaining to your trip. In addition, emergency contacts
and numbers are available for all outreaches. In the event
of political or social unrest, as well as natural disasters,
the national AIM office will attempt to re-route teams
to a different outreach. |

What
does the application fee ($50) include?
Upon
receipt of the application and fee, you will receive the
national AIM Training Manual, In Mission. This manual helps
you begin the extensive process of preparing for your chosen
mission outreach. You will also receive a promo video,
T-shirt (AIMer in training), fund-raising information,
fund-raising sample letter, and all forms to be completed
by you. |
Am
I approved when I receive the In Mission packet?
You
are not approved until all forms are completed and turned
in to the national AIM office. This is your responsibility!
When the national AIM office receives your application
fee, your application will go through the screening process.
You will receive a letter of acceptance upon your approval.
The initial packet including the T-shirt, video, etc.,
does not signify your approval. Make sure your pastor and
other references return their forms to the national AIM
office. These are important and are generally the last
ones sent in. Dont assume you are approved until
you receive the approval letter. |
Can
individuals participate in an AIM trip, or is it group-only?
The
national AIM office welcomes individuals as well as groups.
Training for groups or individuals is available through
the national AIM office. We
recommend every person participating
in an AIM trip purchase the In Mission training manual
for mission trips. The manual is included in the
application
fee on national AIM trips. |
Im
leading a large group; is there anything else I need
to know?
Depending
on destinations and the total number in your group traveling
from the same airport, etc., a leader may receive a discounted
airfare. Also, if a certain date does not work well for
a group of ten or larger, please contact the national AIM
office to check on the availability of alternate dates. |
