Our Worship Style!
As
a visitor to our Assembly, you may have some questions
concerning our way of worship and body ministry. Perhaps
the following information from the scriptures will assist
you in understanding why we worship as we do. (All scripture
from New Living Translation.)

Pastor Brad &

Youth Pastors

|
A
balanced youth ministry is our goal, incorporating fellowship,
worship, discipleship and
evangelism into our program. For Junior and Senior High youth. |
Music is a vital part of every service at Milford Assembly. You
will be blessed and inspired through the ministry of our instrumentalists,
soloists, and other music ministry groups. Christ is the focus
of all worship here.
The entire family can find a place of instruction and inspiration
from the Word of God each Sunday morning at 9:30am.
Regular meetings are scheduled for men to become better acquainted,
and enjoy seasons of prayer, sharing and planning events for evangelism
and Christian service.

Outings, home prayer & study groups, missions activity, family-life
relationships, and physical fitness may be among the events scheduled
for ladies.
A main thrust of the ministry of Milford Assembly of God is the
importance of healthy family relationships. Seminars, retreats,
revivals, film series, and fellowship events are scheduled to meet
this need. Watch our calendar for specific dates and events.
Why do we clap our hands? |
"Come, everyone, and clap your hands for joy! Shout to God with
joyful praise!"
Psalm 47:1
Why
do we lift our hands?
|
"Lift
your hands in holiness, and bless the LORD."
Psalm 134:2
"So
wherever you assemble, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted
up to God, free from anger and controversy."
I Timothy 2:8

Why
do we have this type of worship?
|
"But the time is coming and is already here when true worshipers
will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is
looking for anyone who will worship him that way. For God is
Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in
truth."
John 4:23-24
Why
do we sing choruses as well as hymns?
|
"Let
the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts
and make you wise. Use his words to teach and counsel each
other. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with
thankful hearts."
Colossians 3:16
"But
one who prophecies is helping others grow in the Lord, encouraging
and comforting them."
I Corinthians 14:3

Why
do we have speaking with tongues
and interpretations
of those tongues?
|
"So
dear brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and don't
forbid speaking in tongues."
I Corinthians 14:39
"A
spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping
the entire church . . . He gives one person the power to perform
miracles, and to another the ability to prophesy. He gives
someone else the ability to know whether it is really the Spirit
of God or another spirit that is speaking. Still another person
is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, and another
is given the ability to interpret what is being said."
I Corinthians 12:7,10
"No
more than two or three should speak in an unknown language.
They must speak one at a time, and someone must be ready to
interpret what they are saying."
I Corinthians 14:27
Why
do we anoint with oil and pray for the sick?
|
"Are
any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the
church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil
in the name of the Lord. And their prayer offered in faith
will heal the sick, and the Lord will make them well. And anyone
who has committed sins will be forgiven."
James 5:14,15
